AN INSIGHT ON THE ACER C7 CHROMEBOOK

If anyone will ever think of a budget Chromebook with high-quality features and specifications, the Acer C7 Chromebook must come to mind. With the price that cost only around two hundred dollars, users can already get the most out of the device. However, could this be really an ideal and practical Chromebook?acer cromebook

Quality + Economy

The Acer C7 Chromebook is the love child of high quality and low budget, thus becoming a seemingly perfect device for users to ever acquire. Users can now afford a device with high-end qualities, without having to spend much as it costs only $199.

What is mind-boggling about this affordable device is the fact that it delivers fast and efficient performance. The Chromebook uses a Dual-core Intel® Celeron® Processor. With that, it is expected that the system will function properly and fast. It also runs on Chrome OS. Users can have access to their favorite Google products such as YouTube, Gmail & Google+, and the system automatically updates from time to time. Users therefore will not miss anything. It is, after all, a Chromebook.

The Acer C7 is open to external storage and other paraphernalia with its 100 GB cloud storage and multiple ports (HDMI & VGA; 3 USB ports and 2-in-1 memory card slot) which make the device more highly customizable. But the sad thing is that its USB ports only support USB 2.0; therefore it may not be compatible with all USB types.

Connectivity

Unlike in most Chromebooks, the device unfortunately does not support Bluetooth. Users however still can get the most out of Chrome OS with its dual Wi-Fi capabilities and Gigabit Ethernet. Like most Chromebooks, it also has a built-in HD web camera. It is essential for apps such as Google+ hangouts, which enables users to stay in touch with friends, family and loved ones in the best viewing state possible.

Design

The Acer C7 Chromebook has the look and design akin to that of a netbook. The keyboard and the exterior have the same dark grey color, and the screen is surrounded by a glossy black frame. Users may be turned off or feel uncomfortable with this rather unattractive design. Aside from that, the black gloss may be too reflective for viewing the screen. Because of the reflection of light to the screen, users may have difficulty using it in very bright places.

It measures one inch thin, and weighs 3 pounds. It is a little heavier compared to its competition, the Samsung Series 3 Chromebook, but it may be just too heavy for an 11.6” wide display.

Display

Acer C7 has a very high pixel density. Its screen measures 11.6 inches wide, with the screen resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. This enables the delivery of full-detail graphics and vibrant colors in the device. It has the superior viewing angles and large amount of screen tilt, which makes viewing easy to users.

When it comes to brightness, this device lies a little bit on the dull side of the pendulum; thus it may be bright, but not bright enough at certain places or on certain occasions.

Short battery life

Despite its high-quality features for users to take advantage, the Acer C7 Chromebook’s very little battery life holds them back. It only lasts up to four hours, so users may have trouble plugging in during super storms or blackouts.
